Ministries
An important part of what makes this Church and community special is the many ministries we have within the Church - our way to tend to the ones who need us, but also a way to celebrate our Catholic faith.
Since it is mostly parishioners who get involved with those within not only our church community but in the community at-large, this is a great way to get involved!
Couple-to-Couple Ministry: Instructional classes for couples preparing for Christian marriage. The engaged couple meets with a couple from the parish.
Eucharistic Ministry: Parishioners who participate in Liturgy by distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to the faithful, and bringing the Eucharist to the homebound and sick in the hospital.
Hispanic Ministry: Along with meeting the physical needs, we also provide spiritual growth for the Spanish speaking population of Wooster and neighboring towns. We are building community and working to meet the many challenges Hispanic immigrants face every day. More...
Hospital Ministry: Parishioners who visit Catholic patients at the local hospital. Often these parishioners are Eucharistic Ministers and bring Communion to the sick.
Jail Ministry to the Incarcerated: Parishioners who gather on a monthly basis at the county jail to join in a prayer service with local inmates. Some members participate in a letter writing ministry.
Music Ministry: St. Mary’s Music Ministry consists of various groups of motivated musicians who enjoy sharing their musical gifts during the liturgy. If you are interested in joining any of the vocal groups (choirs and ensembles) or play an instrument, please call the church office and leave your name and number or contact us by email.
Youth Ministry: The youth group of St. Mary, also known as St. Mary CIA (Catholics In Action), is open to all teens in grades 9-12. Faith sharing, prayer, friendship and service are the foundations for our year long calendar of activities. St. Mary youth ministry offers weekly gatherings Senior High (called Coffee House) students, as well as monthly service opportunities and periodic social outings.
