The youth group of St. Mary, also known as St. Mary CIA (Catholics
In Action), is open to all teens in grades 7-12. Faith sharing,
prayer, friendship and service are the foundations for our year
long calendar of activities.
St. Mary youth ministry offers weekly gatherings for Junior
High (called the Breakfast Club) and Senior High (called Coffee
House) students, as well as monthly service opportunities and
periodic social outings.
Teens have the opportunity to participate in a variety of
activities throughout the year. Some of these activities
include the annual potato pick benefiting People-to-People
Ministries,
raking leaves for older parishioners, Christmas-shoppers
babysitting, helping with the parish Giving Tree and Christmas
Alternative
Gift Market, annual trip to the National March for Life in
Washington DC, attending the Chrism Mass at St. John Cathedral
in Cleveland, sponsoring the Graduate Mass and reception
and the Mother’s Appreciation Evening in May. Social
outings have included ice skating at Alice Noble Ice Arena,
tobogganing
at Mill Stream in Strongsville, pizza night, ice cream night,
and movie night.
Summer events include a book club/discussion group, a teen
bible study, and a concert showcasing the talents and gifts
of our parish youth. We also spent a summer evening around
a campfire listening to the stories of Dorothy Tyler and at
the home of Clarice Massaro watching the wonders of her evening
primrose bloom at dusk.
We would like to extend an open invitation to all youth interested
in exploring their faith through fun and fellowship! Bring
a friend and join us!
