Anointing of the Sick

Given the current privacy laws which prevent hospitals from releasing information, we ask that you please contact the Church Office if you or a family member are admitted to the hospital. This Sacrament is bestowed on any Catholic person in need of spiritual, emotional or physical healing. Held semi-annually during Mass or individually at any time.

This sacrament channels God’s healing graces to comfort and strengthen the faith of the person who is ill. It is usually administered upon request when a person’s health is impaired due to serious or chronic illness, old age, or before major surgery.  Anointing of the Sick can be administered when death is imminent, although this sacrament is most beneficial when a sick person needs the healing and comfort of Christ and the Church.

This sacrament is communally celebrated either at a special Mass or at all the liturgies on a particular weekend.  Watch the bulletin for upcoming communal celebrations or call the parish office at 330-264-8824 for more information.
