The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated in our parish on a yearly basis. Our goal is to foster the growth and spirituality of the child to prepare them for a life of apostleship after being sealed and sent through the sacrament of Confirmation. This is done through catechesis, spiritual discernment, family learning and fellowship among peers.
The Diocese requires a two year process. We start this in 7th grade. After their two years of formation the students are confirmed in the fall of their freshman year of high school. Once students starts their 8th grade year, they will need to log in 10 hours of service, pick a sponsor, and a confirmation name of a saint.
Dc. Bob Zerrer and Ms. Rachel Teague teach 8th grade and Mrs. Emily Armour and Mr. Riley Rechnitzer teach 7th grade in the PSR program. Dr. Michael Seifried will be teaching both 7th and 8th grade in St. Mary Day School. Throughout both years, there will be opportunities for the students to come together and socialize outside of a class setting in order to help foster good and holy friendships that will work alongside their catechesis to form a solid foundation in their faith.
